As a digital engineering and timber structural specialist, I am focused on developing digital and sustainable solutions in civil and structural engineering. My interest spans multiple areas, including digital engineering, Open BIM, machine learning and timber structures. My ultimate goal is to address problems that have wide-ranging significance, develop methods that are both accessible and effective, and built intelligent systems that can improve human lives.

Previously: I received my Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from University of New South Wales (UNSW Syndey). During my study, I colaborated with many well recognized researchers such as Prof Hamid Valipour at UNSW Sydney and Dr. Stefania Fortino at VTT Finland.

Aug 15, 2023 Digital Engineering in M1 project Black Hill to Tomago Package was received “Notable Practice” in project audit
Dec 23, 2022 Yatong Nie successfully got the “Bring your own project” funding from WSP Australia which is to develop the carbon assessment tool with input of IFC file schema.
Feb 2, 2022 Yatong Nie was awared the Doctor of Philosophy from UNSW! Congratulations to Dr. Nie!
